In this tutorial, we will explain step by step how to create blog post using AI flows. We will use the “How to” articles available on WikiHow as samples.
1. Before you start #
Previously, we recommend you to review the Custom Templates and AI Flows sections beforehand.
The procedure we are about to perform can be used to create flows for other style of articles; however, we recommend having at least 4 samples available. These items should have the same structure because you will get better generation when the AI identifies certain patterns.
The templates and flow we will create will use the OpenAI Curie model and will be available in the community section as Open Source, so you can duplicate them, change the AI provider, the model or the model parameters. We encourage you to experiment to different configurations and achieve the result that best suits your needs.
2. Samples: #
For this tutorial, we have used the following articles as samples:
- How to Learn New Things.
- How to Talk to Children.
- How to Meet the Parents.
- How to Text Message Someone You Like.
In these articles, we have identified the following structure:
- Title.
- Introduction.
- List of steps.
- Short sentence for each step.
- Explanatory paragraph for each step.
Next, we will explain point by point how we will replicate the structure of the article using templates.
3. Templates #
3.1 Title
The title is the main input that we will use in our templates when chaining our flow to create the article. It does not require the creation of a template, as its value will be entered by the user.
3.2 Introduction
To replicate the introduction, we will create a template. Using the 4 samples, we will have the following:
Title: How to Learn New Things

###
The title is the input and the blog introduction is the output. In the formula field, we easily reproduce that pattern:
Title: %Title%
###
Blog Introduction:
Percentage symbols represent a variable. In this template, the variable will be the title (entered by the user) and the result returned by the AI will be the blog introduction.
Note: We changed the title of the article How to Meet the Parents to How to Meet the Partner’s Parents to better relate it to the introduction.
We verify that it works correctly and move on to the next point:
You can access this template at this link and duplicate it for your experiments.

The pattern used is the same as the previous template. Simply, we change the formula text from Blog Introduction to Steps.
Finally, we test the template to verify that everything is in order. You can access it from this link.
3.4 Short sentence
At the beginning of each paragraph, you will find a sentence highlighted in bold, which summarizes what that step will be about. We wanted to replicate it as a separate template to make this example more illustrative.
The pattern used is shown below:
Title: How to Learn New Things
Step: 1. Learn through practical experience
###
Short sentence: The best learning materials vary based on the skill you want to develop
###
Title: How to Talk to Children
Step: 13. Choose positive words when speaking to your child
###
Short sentence: Show interest in their lives and ask open-ended questions
###
Title: How to Meet the Partner's Parents
Step: 10. Keep the conversation flowing
###
Short sentence: Negative language won’t resonate well with your child
###
Title: How to Text Message Someone You Like
Step: 4. Give your crush compliments
###
Short sentence: Flattery will make them feel great, and it’ll make you seem confident
###
Title: How to Restart a Conversation with a Girl
Step: 3. Send a random question to start a new conversation
###
Short sentence: Switch up the conversation topic to pique her interest
###
Title: How to Support an Artist When You're on a Budget
Step: 1. Spread the word about their amazing work
###
Short sentence: Talk up the artists you like so your friends check them out
###
Title: How to Make a Narcissist Come Crawling Back
Step: 6. Control your emotions around them
###
Short sentence: Narcissists want to get under your skin, so don’t let them
###
The pattern for the template formula is:
Title: %Title%
Step: %Step%
###
Short sentence:
Why do you use as input the title and subtitle and not just the subtitle?
In this template we use the title and subtitle as inputs, because in some cases the subtitles are short and do not provide the corresponding context to generate the sentence. For example, for the article: How to Meet the Partner’s Parents the first step indicates Do your homework. If we do not place the title, the AI may confuse that this text refers to a study task or other situation. By adding the title and subtitle as inputs, we provide the necessary context for the AI to know what type of content to generate.
Note: More samples were included in this template to improve its performance. You can test it from here.
3.5 Paragraph
The last template to generate will be the paragraph creation. Again, we will take our sample articles for the template using the following pattern:
Title: How to Learn New Things
Step: 1. Learn through practical experience
Short sentence: The best learning materials vary based on the skill you want to develop
###
Paragraph: You're capable of learning new things without paying for a class or tutor! Gather any materials you need and track down a few reliable sources you can use to learn. This includes textbooks, online video tutorials, podcasts, blog posts, and movies. Do an online search for sources and check your local library for helpful books.
For example, there are plenty of available resources if you want to master drawing. Find books on drawing techniques at the library, look up video tutorials, and read a variety of how-to blogs online.
Any and every new source of information can help! Don't read a single how-to guide; using different learning styles to practice a skill can be even more helpful than using one method.
Don't worry about sticking to a particular learning style (visual, auditory, or kinesthetic). Engaging with the information you learn is far more important than studying a particular way.
###
Title: How to Talk to Children
Step: 13. Choose positive words when speaking to your child
Short sentence: Show interest in their lives and ask open-ended questions
###
Paragraph: Instead of saying what not to do, focus on what your child should be doing instead. Positive, encouraging language helps foster self-confidence, and will inspire kids to build better habits in the future.
Instead of saying “No playing in the kitchen,” you might say, “Go play in the living room where all your toys are.”
“I’m proud of you for sharing your toys” is much more positive and encouraging than “You shouldn’t be selfish.”
###
Title: How to Meet the Partner's Parents
Step: 10. Keep the conversation flowing
Short sentence: Negative language won’t resonate well with your child
###
Paragraph: When they tell you something about themselves or answer one of your questions, build on that by asking follow-up questions to get more details. If you aren’t sure where to start, you can always ask questions about something interesting in the room or elsewhere in their home.
For example, “That painting over the fireplace is absolutely gorgeous. Do you love collecting artwork?”
You might say, "Sarah tells me you lived in Germany for a year when you were in the military. I studied abroad in Germany last summer. Did you enjoy your time there?"
Avoid sensitive topics like religion and politics. Safe topics include classical music, jazz, wine, beer, cars, crafts, pets, gardening, and literature.
###
Title: How to Text Message Someone You Like
Step: 4. Give your crush compliments
Short sentence: Flattery will make them feel great, and it’ll make you seem confident
###
Paragraph: Text a heartfelt compliment when you’re ready to be a little bold and more affectionate with your crush. Be as specific as you can so they know you mean it, and mention things that you genuinely admire about them to get their attention.
"You looked super cute when I saw you at lunch today! That shirt really brought out your eyes."
“Congrats on that perfect test score! You earned it, and you’re totally the smartest person I know. 😊”
###
The formula would be:
Title: %Title%
Step: %Step%
Short sentence: %Short sentence%
###
Paragraph:
We have considered as inputs for this template the title, the subtitle and the short sentence, in order to give as much context as possible to the AI when generating the paragraph.
Access this template here.
Now that we created all the necessary templates, we will create a flow to integrate them all.
4. Flow #
When we start a new flow, the first node we will have available is Input. We will rename it to title. For this flow, it will be the only input we will use.
We go to the community templates section and drag the 4 newly created templates.
We connect them in the order that corresponds and select the inputs for each of them:
4.1 Introduction
The only input required is the title that will be entered when the flow is started.
4.2 Steps
The only input for the steps is the title. However, be sure to check the “Divide result in paragraphs” box to process each step independently. Similarly, click on the three dots for more configuration options. There, we check the box to not display the generated output in the result. If we leave it unchecked, in addition to the processing in paragraphs, the complete list of this template will be displayed.
4.3 Short Sentence
This template has as inputs the title and a step. Make sure to choose the option “How to (Steps) (Divide)” as input instead of the one marked as “Full”. The difference between these options is that the one marked as “Divide” processes each step line by line and the one marked as “Full” processes all the steps as a block.
4.4 Paragraph
Finally we choose the inputs of the paragraph template as shown in the image:
We add a description to our flow and save it. You can access the flow from this link.
5. Tests #
We tried some test articles with the following results:

6. Attend local events
By mixing things up, you’ll be able to keep things interesting
Instead of staying home all holiday season, take a trip to a new place! Go see a Christmas play in town or spend the day ice skating on the pond. Or check out local markets and find the best gifts for your friends and family.
Don’t forget the food! Head to a nearby restaurant for a festive meal or try your hand at some of your favorite recipes from years past. And if you want to get really creative, make your own holiday traditions!
Mix things up this year and have a blast!

8. Get involved in the community
Get to know your neighbours and sign up for events
