You can remove backgrounds, upscale resolution, recolor, or even apply different effects with just a few clicks. What is the Multimedia Tools Node and What Is It Used For?

The Multimedia Tools node is a processor that receives at least one multimedia input and transforms it according to the selected model. Available models include options for:

• Remove background
• Apply upscale (improve quality or enlarge the image)
• Search and recolor
• Modify lighting and background
• Apply different styles

You can check the list of available multimedia tool models to see the options and compatible AI providers. This node can connect with other nodes such as Text to Image, Image to Image, Audio AI, Video AI, or even with an Input node (file type), allowing the element to be processed directly.

Configurations

Model Selection (Source)

In the Source field, you select the desired function (e.g., remove-background to remove the background). This will determine the variables and configurations you need to provide. Some of these are:

• Image: The image characteristics will depend on the model.
• Prompt (optional): Some functions may require a descriptive prompt or additional details.
• Negative Prompt (optional): Used to specify what you prefer the AI to avoid (colors, styles, etc.).
• Grow Mask/Seed (optional): In models like search-and-recolor, for example, you can define the size of the recoloring “mask” or a specific seed for reproducible results.
• Output Format: In some models, you can choose PNG, JPG, or other formats depending on your goal.

Output Options

As with other nodes, you will see parameters like Hide Node Output, Do Not Send to Webhook, or Send Output in HTML, along with the option to include prefixes and suffixes in the output. These options let you customize how and where the result will be displayed, though their functionality is quite similar across all platform nodes.

Usage Tips

• Combine with other nodes
  • Start with an Input node so the user can upload a photo or audio and connect it to the Multimedia Tools node.
  • Chain this node after a Text to Image node if you want a more complex process: first generate the image with AI, then use remove-background.
• Additional Variables
  • Some models (e.g., search-and-recolor) accept prompts to define the desired color or transformation.
  • Adjusting Grow Mask will help you cover larger or smaller areas depending on the parts of the image you want to modify.
• Check Minimum Size
  • Ensure your multimedia element meets the requirements of each model before submission; otherwise, it may be rejected or produce unexpected results.
• Each Model Has Its Logic
  • If you need a very fast process, you can use the upscale|fast option. If you want maximum quality, consider the upscale|creative or upscale|conservative variants based on your needs.
